Scamper

(page 104)
He grabbed me by the arm and his voice gerw wild. "Don't give me your simpering, mealymouthed answers. We've repaid our debts a dozen times over."
"You're hurting me," I said. All the time, in my mind, I was telling myself that I must not be frightened. I must not be frightened.
Black Dog said that I didn't know what pain is."Wait till you have been here for thirty years. Then you'll welcome the pain. They were once as pleasant to me as they are to you." He twisted my arm. I let out a yell. I kicked him hard in the knee and he let go of me with a grunt. I brgan to run up the hill. My hat flew off. I kept on running. I heard his boots come farther as he followed me. I ran hardly, as fast as I could, I could feel that wind blew over my face, the trees were blowing in the wind, the air was chaos by the dust. I look back on Black Dog and I almost couldn't see that where Black Dog was because I ran ahead for about three miles. "Pain? I don't know what is pain because no one can hurt me! My magical feet can run apace because they
had conjuration by the dragon king who has magic and I can run as fast as a horse!" I said proudly.

When I came to, I was back in the Company. Father was asking the details of the strife with Black Dog and sterilizing my arm that scratched by Black Dog.
Lefty asked me that what beast did Black Dog do to me.
I found that Black Dog was not even mad at me. How couldn't Black Dog be mad at you?
I did not know what to do or say; The Company looked so stern and solemn.
